About Scripture Union NSW

Who is Scripture Union?

Scripture Union is a worldwide interdenominational Christian mission movement ministering to children, young people and families. Scripture Union is active in over 140 countries and has been operating since 1868.

Scripture Union operates as a volunteer movement supported by a small team of staff who recruit, equip, train, motivate and support the volunteers. In obedience to Jesus Christ and in reliance on the Holy Spirit, SU ministries are run with the purpose of bringing people to a personal faith in our Lord Jesus Christ; helping them grow in Christian maturity and become committed church members and servants of a world in need.

SU encourages people of all ages to meet God daily through the Bible and prayer.

Where is Scripture Union?

Everywhere! This includes almost 50 Family Missions around NSW, many of which are very similar to Sawtell Ignite.

We believe that Christ's message of hope and a certain future through a relationship with Him is a message worth sharing. Scripture Union programs are run in our schools, on our beaches, in towns and at the local sporting field. We have fun, exciting and adventurous holiday programs for young people. Scripture Union ministries aim to reach those that are outside or unknown to the church, and to be present and available in places where the Good News of Jesus is hard to find.
