Parents FAQ
How do you ensure my kids are safe?
Sawtell Ignite is committed to providing an environment that is as safe as possible for the children in our care. This includes:
- Child protection screening for all volunteers running activities
- Detailed risk assessment of every activity we do
- Procedures for identifying and dealing with any allergies or special needs
- Strict registration processes, including sign-in and sign-out by caregivers
Please contact us if you have any specific questions.
How does the registration process work?
There is a detailed registration form that you will need to fill out the first time your child attends Sawtell Ignite. It only takes five minutes, and it means that we can be fully prepared to look after your child's needs. It includes questions on your child's allergies, medication and special needs; any restrictions on who can pick up your child after the program is over; permission to take photographs of your child for promotional purposes; and contact details so we can get in touch with you if anything should go wrong.
What about my younger children?
If you have younger children who aren't old enough to attend the program (to be in the youngest section, they must have attended one year at school), there is a creche play area available - but our staffing ratios mean you will have to stay onsite if you have children there (in the adult cafe is fine - it overlooks the play area).
What is the teaching content?
There is an explicit Christian basis to the program - there will be bible stories in the stage show on every day of the week, and this flows through into the rest of the games and activities. Please remember that everyone is welcome, regardless of whether or not you would call yourself a Christian. In many ways, the teaching reflects the general Christian basis of Australian society. |
