About the age based groups at Sawtell Ignite

The aged-based activity groups at Sawtell Ignite are known as "Sections". Currently, Sawtell Ignite caters for infants and primary aged children only - kids must have completed a year of school to enter the youngest section. Morning tea is included for all groups - drinks and fruit plus icy poles if it is hot!

Fireflies - Kindergarten to Year 2

Xplode grabs the attention of Kindy to Year 2 children through a constant stream of changing activities -sing-a-longs, movement games, puppets, rhymes, stories and simple craft. Leaders come alongside children to encourage and support them throughout the range of activities that take place. There is a 1:5 leader-to-child ratio, and parents are most welcome to stay.

Dynamite - Years 3 and 4

Fireflies is the most energetic section. There are all manner of games - sporting, talking and thinking - interesting dramas that include the kids, and plenty of opportunities to laugh and have fun. Bible content might include reading bible stories and acting them out as a group. There is a 1:7 leader-to-child ratio.

Kaos - Years 5 and 6

Kaos is all about hanging out, doing new things, and having the opportunity to be who you are. The games can be extremely messy (think slime and shaving cream) but will always be extremely fun. The Christian content encourages you to think for yourself about who Jesus is and what that means for you.

Other Sections

All age groups watch the stage show - known as Sawtell Showtime - at the beginning and end of the morning program. The adult cafe has free coffee and snacks and will look at various discussion questions throughout the week.
